Ukraine’s intelligence releases video of top naval operations
The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine has demonstrated a unique footage showing the agency’s main naval operations in the Black Sea
On July 4, 2022, Zmiinyi Island returned to Ukrainian control, but the operation ended only 3 days later, on July 7. Combat swimmers of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces approached Zmiinyi Island by underwater transport. They inspected the coastal area for antiship and anti-landing mines. After that, military engineers and special operations forces landed on the island.
On September 11, Ukraine regained control of the four Boyko Towers. These are gas and oil drilling platforms located near the eastern coast of Crimea. They had been under occupation since 2014. The Russian army used the towers as helicopter landing sites and for radar stations.
"During one of the phases of this operation, there was a battle between Ukrainian special forces on boats and a Russian Su-30 fighter jet. As a result of the battle, the Russian aircraft was hit and had to retreat," the Defense Intelligence noted.
On August 24 and October 4, the Special Operations Forces carried out two sabotage landings on the eastern coast of Crimea. During the operations, four speedboats, more than fifty Russian soldiers, and radar defense equipment were destroyed.
