General Syrskyi’s plan succeeds: Russian forces pulled from Donbas to Kursk
Suspilne.Donbas editor-in-chief Andrii Kramchenkov says that the Ukrainian forces successfully pushed some Russian troops out of Donbas and redirected them toward the Kursk region through an offensive operation
He said this on Espreso TV.
"It can be said that General Syrskyi's plan succeeded. Through the Kursk offensive operation, part of the Russian forces were pulled back to the Kursk direction from Donbas. Currently, the two most active areas in Donbas are the Kurakhove and Pokrovsk directions. The enemy is attempting to flank Kurakhove from both the northern and southern sides. Fighting is ongoing in the city. According to the Deep State map, most of Kurakhove has already been captured," Kramchenkov noted.
According to the editor-in-chief of Suspilne.Donbas, in the Pokrovsk direction, Russian forces are trying to outflank the city from the southern side and move toward the Pokrovsk-Pavlohrad highway from the west to cut off a vital logistical artery that supports a significant sector of the front.
"The fighting for Pokrovsk itself hasn’t started yet—the Russian army is still on the outskirts but has already moved very close to the city," Kramchenkov added.
- Over the last day, 218 combat clashes occurred on the frontline. Ukrainian forces repelled 94 Russian attacks in the Kursk region.
- Since the start of the Kursk operation, the Russian military has suffered 38,000 casualties, including both killed and wounded. Additionally, Ukrainian forces have taken 860 soldiers prisoner.
