Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha, welcomed Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir to Kyiv. This visit marks her first trip to Ukraine as Foreign Minister.
During their meeting, Sybiha highlighted Iceland’s support in providing prosthetics for injured Ukrainian soldiers. “This year, we aim to expand this project and help more of our servicemen recover,” he said.
Þorgerður Katrín Gunnarsdóttir reaffirmed Iceland’s commitment to supporting Ukraine. This includes additional funding for President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s humanitarian initiative, "Grain from Ukraine," which supplies Ukrainian food to countries like Syria.
