Ukrainian flag installed in Crimea, 30 Russian soldiers killed: intelligence details special operation
A joint special operation of the Main Intelligence Directorate with the support of the Ukrainian Navy took place in the temporarily occupied Crimea at night
The Main Intelligence Directorate shared the details of the special operation on its Facebook page.
"Special forces landed on the shore near the settlements of Olenivka and Mayak. While performing the task, Ukrainian defenders engaged in a firefight with the invader's units. As a result, the Russian forces suffered losses among their personnel, and enemy equipment was destroyed. Also, the state flag was installed again in Ukrainian Crimea," the intelligence noted.
According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, all the goals and objectives of the special operation were achieved, and after its completion, Ukrainian defenders left the scene without losses.
"The occupation administration of Crimea does not comment on the events, despite massive appeals from local residents. The only message is about the alleged 'destruction of ammunition according to the established schedule'. The Ukrainian Defense Forces will continue to assist the occupying Russian forces in the destruction of ammunition, equipment and manpower," the intelligence added.
Earlier, Suspilne reported that explosions occurred near Cape Tarkhankut on the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula on the morning of August 24. In a commentary, the intelligence representative, Andriy Yusov, informed that a special operation was conducted on the peninsula.
Hromadske reported the information, citing the representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) Andriy Yusov.
"As part of the special operation, personnel landed on the peninsula. The Main Directorate of Intelligence in cooperation with the Navy conducted a special operation, the goal was achieved, there were no losses among the personnel. The special operation continues, we do not disclose all the details, there are losses among the enemy's personnel, as well as among the forces and means," the intelligence officer said.
The number of Russian losses is being specified.
Krym.Realii, citing local tTelegram channels, reported that explosions were heard on the peninsula.
"Since 5 am, explosions were heard near the village of Mayak on Cape Tarkhankut. Mayak is the base of the 3rd Radio Regiment as part of the radio engineering troops of the Russian Aerospace Forces," the post says.
On the Tarkhankut Peninsula, there is a radar node consisting of the Nebo-M radar and the Kasta-2E2 radar. Russian air defense positions have been established around this area.
It was also reported that shots from a hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher were heard at a campsite in the village of Olenivka around 3:50 a.m.
- The last explosions in the occupied Crimea occurred on the morning of August 23 near the village of Olenivka on Cape Tarkhankut, destroying a Russian long-range and medium-range S-400 Triumph air defense system.
- The head of the Defense Ministry's Main Directorate of Intelligence, Kyrylo Budanov, stated that the Ukrainian Defense Forces are capable of striking Russian forces anywhere in the occupied Crimea.
