Russian troops rebuild in Kupyansk direction following Ukraine’s successful defense — Ukraine’s 14th Brigade
Major Natalia Zamryha, head of the communications division of Ukraine's 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade, shared updates about recent combat activities in the brigade's area of responsibility, stating that Russian forces had attempted assaults using armored vehicles last week
She shared the information on Espreso TV.
"In our brigade’s area of responsibility, the situation is currently stabilized. A week ago, the enemy (Russian forces - ed.) attempted two assaults using heavy armored vehicles. The first and second columns included tanks, BMPs, MT-LBs, and infantry forces dismounted from vehicles. Both columns were destroyed by our forces. The infantry, which dismounted and tried to hide in forested areas, was also eliminated using FPV drones and UAV drops," said Zamryha.
According to the officer, the Russian army is not currently conducting active offensive actions. Russian forces are regrouping and replenishing reserves after suffering significant losses.
"Following the intense combat in our brigade's area of responsibility, during which the enemy sustained heavy losses, a relative lull is now observed. After their failed assault attempts, the enemy is unable to replenish supplies and bring in reserves quickly. They need time for this," she added.
- On January 7, the General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces reported that during the past day, January 6, there were 218 combat engagements on the frontlines between the two armies. Ukrainian forces repelled 94 Russian attacks in the Kursk region.
