Trump envoy’s Kyiv trip delayed amid lack of clear war solutions - political analyst
Dmytro Levus, international political analyst at the United Ukraine think tank, thinks Keith Kellogg held off on visiting Kyiv until after the inauguration because the Trump administration knows a quick resolution to the war isn’t realistic

He stated this on the Espreso TV channel.
"Trump's special representative Keith Kellogg postponed his trip to Ukraine until after the inauguration, and this is logical. The administration of the newly elected president understands that quickly resolving the Russian-Ukrainian war is unlikely," Levus said.
The political analyst added that Washington currently lacks effective proposals on how the war could end. Therefore, it is natural for Kellogg's visit to be delayed until the inauguration.
"Of course, it would have been better if Kellogg's visit took place before Trump's inauguration because Ukraine needs to use every opportunity to strengthen its position. But there is no drama in postponing this visit," Levus emphasized.
- On November 27, it became known that the newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump nominated retired General Keith Kellogg as his special representative for resolving the war in Ukraine.
- In mid-December, Kellogg expressed confidence that the war in Ukraine could be resolved within the next few months.
- Later, Kellogg noted that Kyiv and Moscow are ready for peace negotiations, describing it as "a good moment."
- On December 19, Zelensky confirmed that Trump's future envoy, Kellogg, was planning a visit to Ukraine before the inauguration of the U.S. President-elect.
- However, the special representative for resolving the war in Ukraine, retired General Keith Kellogg, postponed his trip to Kyiv until after Donald Trump's inauguration.
