Ukraine receives first KF41 Lynx IFV from Rheinmetall for testing
Ukraine has received its first modern KF41 Lynx infantry fighting vehicle from the German defense company Rheinmetall
The company's CEO, Armin Papperger, shared the information in an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
According to Papperger, the vehicle was delivered to Ukraine in December and is currently undergoing testing by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to facilitate a potential serial order.
The KF41 Lynx is a next-generation tracked infantry fighting vehicle designed by Rheinmetall. It boasts advanced protection systems, including active, passive, and reactive measures against rocket-propelled grenades and anti-tank guided missiles. Its modular design allows for rapid adaptation to various combat roles.
Equipped with the new-generation Lance 2.0 turret, the vehicle offers enhanced survivability of critical subsystems against kinetic and fragmentation threats. Armed with a 35-mm automatic cannon, the Lynx KF41 also has provisions for additional weapons, such as anti-tank guided missiles, strike munitions, an electronic warfare unit, or even an unmanned aerial vehicle. The vehicle can carry three crew members and up to eight soldiers, weighing approximately 44 tons, making it larger than its base version.
