Russia loses 15,000 soldiers in brutal five-month Kursk operation

Ukraine's General Staff reported the information.
“Over the 5 months of active hostilities, the total losses of the occupiers in manpower amounted to more than 38,000 people, of which about 15,000 were killed,” the statement says.
In addition, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed 104 tanks, 575 armored combat vehicles, 1,104 vehicles, 330 artillery systems, 12 MLRS, 12 air defense systems, 1 aircraft, 3 helicopters, 859 drones, and 32 special equipment.
Also, about 4,000 North Korean soldiers were eliminated, and some units lost their combat capability.
Reportedly, during the operation, Ukrainian forces captured 860 Russian soldiers, significantly replenishing the exchange fund.
- On Sunday, January 5, the Ukrainian Armed Forces advanced up to 10 kilometers toward Velyke Soldatske on the Sudzha-Kursk highway.
- On January 5, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) published a report stating that Ukrainian forces have resumed offensive operations in the Kursk region. It notes that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have successfully advanced on at least three fronts.
