This was announced by Danylo Hetmantsev, Chairman of the Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy of the Ukrainian Parliament.
He noted that tax revenue has been growing steadily each year since the law was introduced.
"Predictions that the tax wouldn’t work, or that non-residents would avoid registration and leave the Ukrainian market, have been proven wrong. On the contrary, revenue from the Google tax has been steadily increasing," Hetmantsev said.
He added, "In the first year after its introduction, revenues were UAH 4.3 billion, rising to UAH 8 billion in 2023. Now, in 2024, the revenues reached UAH 11.2 billion, almost four times more than what was originally expected from the law."
- In June 2021, Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a law requiring foreign internet companies, including Google, Netflix, and OnlyFans, to pay a 20% VAT in Ukraine.
