Ukraine should talk about peacefully dismantling Russia - political scientist Mahda

The centrifugal tendencies in Russia, which have the potential to spark the state's disintegration, must happen, because after the war in Ukraine, revanchism could otherwise emerge

Political scientist Yevhen Mahda shared his perspective with Espreso TV.

"It is worth remembering that Ukraine does not have any documents containing the obligation to provide military-technical assistance in the event it is attacked. And the fact that 5 Ramsteins have passed and this partnership shows that a good quarter of the world understands and effectively supports Ukraine's resistance. This procedure is unique. I think that we are simply observing in real time how significant changes in the global security system are approaching. I think that we at the 6th Ramstein should, in view of the Russian Federation's actions yesterday, say that Russia should be dismantled peacefully," he said.

Mahda argues that Russia's armed potential should be dismantled under the pressure of the entire global community, which is aware of the danger posed by the Russian Federation.

"Ukraine must convey this information to the whole world as much as possible about what Russia is doing, striking the civilian population. Where Russia is active, it is necessary to actively explain that the destruction of critical infrastructure is not the adequate actions of a country that has nuclear potential and can pose a threat to other countries as well," the political scientist believes.

He added that the path of peaceful dismantling of the Russian Federation is the path to follow post Putin.

"Russian opposition activists should have no illusions that they can replace the bad Putin with a good one with a different surname. They should also understand that the centrifugal tendencies that currently exist will be realized. For example, the political map of the North Caucasus may, in the foreseeable future, have another view is that Tatarstan and Bashkortostan also have not only political aspirations, but also economic grounds to count on their independence. And the fact that Kaliningrad may become something like an independent city in a certain economic confederation with the Baltic states," Mahda said.

According to the political scientist, if we talk about this and look for opportunities to implement similar projects, then this will exist and act.

"But if there is an illusion that the Russian Federation will remain in its area and capabilities, then after its defeat at the front, then there is a high probability that we will meet with a very powerful revanchism. Russia will look for the weaker - those who can show the possibilities of their own revenge. This is quite possible for the Baltic countries, despite the fact that they are members of NATO and the EU," he concluded.
