Ukraine's Independence Day is Independence Day for all Central Europe - Duda
Polish President Andrzej Duda says Ukraine's Independence Day is the day of independence of all Central European states and emphasizes Warsaw's support for Kyiv
He said this during a solemn event in Kyiv on Independence Day, August 24.
“Your Independence Day is, in a sense, also the Independence Day of the whole of Central Europe. After all, without Ukraine's independence, it is difficult to imagine an independent Poland, Lithuania or other countries in our region,” the Polish leader said.
Duda emphasized that his country knows that Ukraine has been a part of the European community for centuries and assured that Warsaw will support Kyiv until the war against Russia is won.
“For more than two years, you have been heroically fighting for your country and defending its independence, paying the highest price: the price of blood, the price of life. Remember: you are not alone in this ordeal. Poland supports and will continue to support your just struggle until its victorious conclusion,” he said.
