Mobilization of 18-year-olds: the West's excuses for its own failures
The story of mobilization 18-year-olds was first brought up by Sullivan to justify all the delayed decisions on weapons, permits, and sanctions
As it turns out, if we allow strikes on Russia with missiles or impose real sanctions on the oil sector, nothing significant will happen. However, Russia's ability to wage war will decrease.
Currently, this rhetoric has been "adopted" by Trump supporters to cover their tracks due to their reluctance to make decisions — at least for now.
Are there any problems with a sufficient number of people in Ukraine's army? Yes, there are. Is part of the reason for these problems that Ukraine's partners have been delaying decisions on weapons and permits? Yes, definitely.
Because all the decisions on weapons that have not been made mean concrete lives. Unapproved decisions by both Democrats and Republicans who have been blocking aid for more than six months.
These are real lives of people who have been killed or maimed. The availability of weapons (especially those that Ukraine cannot produce itself) also influences people’s motivation. Indirectly, but it does.
Of course, neither side wants to take responsibility for their mistakes.
However, the attempts of Ukraine's esteemed partners to pay for their part of failures or political and business calculations with Ukrainian blood appear to be monstrous.
And this needs to be said honestly.
