Ukraine reports 53 clashes at front, intense Russian activity in Pokrovsk sector

The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff reported the information as of 4:00 p.m. on February 21.

Today, Russian shelling targeted settlements including Huta-Studenetska in the Chernihiv region, as well as Bachivsk, Vovkivka, and Kucheriivka in the Sumy region.

Frontline situation

Kharkiv direction: Russia did not conduct offensive actions but launched airstrikes with unguided rockets on the settlement of Zolochiv.

Kupiansk direction: Ukrainian defenders repelled three enemy assaults near Zahryzove, with another battle still ongoing.

Lyman direction: The Russian army is attacking in the areas of Kopanky, Novolubivka, Terny, and Kolodiazi. A total of four battles have taken place here since the start of the day, with two still ongoing.

Kramatorsk direction: The Defense Forces are repelling three enemy attempts to advance near the settlement of Vasiukivka. These battles are still ongoing. Meanwhile, Kostiantynivka and Chasiv Yar have been hit by enemy airstrikes.

Toretsk direction: The Russian troops have attacked Ukrainian positions eight times near Diliivka and Toretsk, with six battles still in progress. Additionally, the enemy launched airstrikes using guided aerial bombs on Toretsk.

Pokrovsk direction: The enemy has attacked Defense Forces’ positions 14 times in the areas of Vodiane Druhe, Yelyzavetivka, Svyrydonivka, Promin, Pishchane, Serhiivka, Andriivka, and Ulakly. One battle is still ongoing.

Novopavlivka direction: Ukrainian forces stopped three enemy assaults as the invaders attempted to break through defensive positions near Kostiantynopil and Burlatske. One battle is still in progress.

Huliaipole direction: The settlements of Novopillia and Huliaipole suffered airstrikes from unguided rockets.

Orikhiv direction: Russia attacked Ukrainian defenders’ positions twice in the areas of Shcherbaky and Pyatykhatky.

Siversk and Prydniprovskyi directions: No active enemy operations were recorded.

Kursk direction: Invading Russian forces attacked Ukrainian defenders eight times, carried out 11 airstrikes dropping 15 guided aerial bombs, and conducted 268 artillery strikes, including three with multiple launch rocket systems.

The General Staff added that no significant changes were observed on other fronts.

• Over the past day, February 20, there were 121 combat engagements on the Russian-Ukrainian front. In the Pokrovsk direction alone, Ukrainian defenders repelled 34 enemy attacks.
