
Russian airstrikes on Ukraine’s Kostiantynivka kill two, injure three
On Saturday morning, February 22, Russian forces launched airstrikes on the city of Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region. At least two people were killed in the attack
The head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, Vadym Filashkin, reported this.
He reported that Kostiantynivka was hit by multiple airstrikes this morning. As a result of the Russian attacks, at least two people were killed and four injured. However, the police report three victims.
Among the deceased are men aged 62 and 72, while the injured are women aged 56, 61, and 71. They are internally displaced persons from Bakhmut. The oldest injured woman was evacuated to the hospital in serious condition by police paramedics.
People may still be trapped under the rubble, and the search operation is ongoing.
According to the police, the Russians dropped 7 FAB-250 bombs on the city. As a result of the strike on a residential building, apartments on floors 1 through 5 were destroyed, and there was significant damage to the private sector.
The city also suffered damage to 10 high-rise buildings, 21 private houses, 3 industrial premises, a shop, 16 garages, 2 power lines, two gas pipelines, and 9 cars.
- On the same day, the Russian army shelled the residential area of the Krasnopillia community in the Sumy region with artillery. The Russian attack caused damage and a fire in a private house, and one person was injured.
