Ukraine proposes 'all for all' prisoner exchange in case of talks with Russia

Bohdan Okhrimenko, head of the Secretariat of the Coordination Headquarters on Prisoner of War Issues, reported the information.

According to him, the Ukrainian side is constantly pushing for the possibility of an "all-for-all" exchange.

"We have lists of our citizens held in Russian captivity, confirmed by the ICRC or other sources. There are also many missing persons, and we continue working on that. If agreements are reached for an exchange of everyone we hold, we will hand them over to the Russian side. Similarly, the Russian side will hand over everyone they are holding," Okhrimenko added.

He emphasized that the pace of such exchanges will depend on the agreements reached.

According to the head of the Coordination Headquarters, the "all-for-all" exchange will also include civilian prisoners.

"The head of the Coordination Headquarters, Kyrylo Budanov, is in contact with the President of Ukraine. Accordingly, the work being done by the President's Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Coordination Headquarters is well-coordinated," Okhrimenko noted.

• On February 14, following repatriation efforts, the bodies of 757 fallen soldiers were returned to Ukraine. Since the establishment of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War in 2022, a total of 4,131 Ukrainians have been returned from captivity, including 1,358 last year.
