
Ukraine returns bodies of 757 fallen defenders
Following repatriation efforts, the bodies of 757 fallen soldiers were returned to Ukraine. The identification of the deceased will be completed promptly
The Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War reported the information.
According to the report, among those who were returned are soldiers from:
- Kurakhove direction;
- Pokrovsk direction;
- Bakhmut direction;
- Vuhledar direction;
- Luhansk direction;
- Zaporizhzhia direction;
- morgues on the territory of the Russian Federation.
The fallen defenders were returned with the assistance of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
“Special thanks to the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who transport repatriated fallen heroes to designated state specialized institutions, organize the transfer of the dead to law enforcement officials in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and forensic medical examination in the Ministry of Health,” the Coordination Headquarters said.
“Law enforcement investigators together with expert institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will identify the victims as soon as possible,” they added.
- On Friday, January 24, as a result of repatriation efforts, the bodies of 757 fallen soldiers were returned to Ukraine, with the majority coming from the Donetsk direction.
