Ukraine reports 170 clashes at front, repels 70 Russian attacks in Pokrovsk sector

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this as of 08:00 on January 15.

Yesterday, Russian forces carried out 50 airstrikes on Ukrainian positions and settlements, dropping 89 guided aerial bombs. They also launched 5,441 attacks, including 143 from multiple rocket systems, and deployed 3,086 'kamikaze' drones.

Airstrikes targeted settlements including Ryzhkovychi, Rybtsi, Vilne, Yamne, Lisne, Bezruky, Velykyi Burluk, Kupyansk, Hlushkivka, Novoosynove, Zvanivka, Oleksandro-Kalynove, Kostyantynivka, Oleksandropil, Nova Poltavka, Tarasivka, and Preobrazhenka.

In the past 24 hours, Ukrainian missile troops and artillery struck two command posts, four areas of personnel concentration, and one other critical Russian target.

Frontline situation

Kharkiv direction: Russian forces stormed Ukrainian positions near Vovchansk twice.

Kupyansk direction: Five attacks were repelled, with Russian forces stopped near Nova Kruhlyakivka and Tabaivka.

Lyman direction: Russian forces launched 17 attacks, advancing toward Kopanky, Hrekivka, Novoyehorivka, Raihorodka, Makiivka, Zarichne, Terny, and Hryhorivka.

Siversk direction: In Bilohorivka, Verkhnyokamyanske, Ivano-Dariivka, and Viyimka, Ukrainian positions were attacked 14 times.

Kramatorsk direction: 14 clashes occurred near Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, Predtechyne, and Oleksandro-Shultyn.

Toretsk direction: Russian forces carried out eight assaults near Toretsk and Shcherbynivka.

Pokrovsk direction: 70 Russian assaults and offensives were stopped in areas like Yantarne, Novotoretske, Promin, Zelene, Novyi Trud, Chunyshyne, Zvirove, Uspenivka, Novoandreyevka, Nadiyevka, Petropavlivka, and Shevchenko.

According to the Khortytsia military unit, some Ukrainian positions were lost during these clashes. Efforts are underway to stabilize the tactical situation.

Novopavlivka direction: Eight Russian attacks were repelled near Kostyantynopil, Velyka Novosilka, and Neskuchne.

Kherson direction: Russian forces launched three unsuccessful assaults to dislodge Ukrainian units.

In the Kursk region operational zone, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 24 Russian attacks. Russian forces also launched nine airstrikes (13 guided bombs) on their own territory.

No clashes occurred in the Orikhiv and Huliaipole directions, though Russian forces continued shelling Ukrainian positions and civilian infrastructure, including drone strikes.

There are no signs of Russian offensive formations along the Belarus border.

• Over the past day, the Ukrainian army eliminated at least 1,580 Russian troops, along with numerous vehicles and weapons, on the Russian-Ukrainian frontline.
