The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, expressed his congratulations.

“Britain will always stand with Ukraine. On your day of independence, we share a clear message: We will continue to stand with you – because that is what the people of Ukraine deserve. Slava Ukraini,” he emphasized.

The Foreign Office of the United Kingdom also congratulated Ukraine, promising to support our country “for as long as it takes.”

“33 years ago, the Ukrainian people chose independence from the Soviet Union. Today, Ukraine is a sovereign state, standing against Russia's attempts to destroy its national and cultural identity. The UK will stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes,”  the ministry emphasized.

Moldova

The President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, also joined the congratulations, writing “Happy Independence Day, Ukraine!” in Ukrainian.

“On Ukraine’s Independence Day, we celebrate the courage and resilience of the Ukrainian people. Your fight for freedom is a beacon of hope for all who cherish democracy. Moldova stands with you, today and always,” she promised.

The Netherlands

The Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Dick Schoof, also congratulated Ukraine on the 33rd anniversary of its independence, promising to help Ukraine not only on this day but on any other.

“Your struggle shows that independence can never be taken for granted. It is something worth fighting for. But no one can do that alone. And you don’t need to. Ukraine can continue to count on the Netherlands. Not only today, on Independence Day, but every day,” he noted.

Austria

Austrian Ambassador Arad Benkö also recorded a video greeting. In a sign of solidarity with Ukraine, he spoke in Ukrainian and even quoted Viacheslav Chornovil's words that “independence is not only a flag and an emblem, but above all, faith in oneself.”

Ireland

Ambassador of Ireland Thérèse Healy also congratulated Ukrainians on the holiday.

She expressed confidence that despite current challenges, Ukraine is now stronger, more united, and more assured in its path than ever before. She extended her congratulations to Ukrainians and Ukraine, emphasizing that Ireland will continue to stand with them in partnership and friendship, and looks forward to the day when Ukraine wins the war, rebuilds, and becomes a member of the EU.

You can always count on us,” he emphasized.

Estonia
