Germany provides Ukraine with Leopard tanks, Patriot systems in latest military aid package
On December 23, Germany announced a new military aid package for Ukraine, including 15 Leopard 1 tanks, two IRIS-T air defense systems, and two Patriot air defense systems

According to the German Ministry of Defense, the package includes:
- 15 Leopard 1 A5 tanks
- 2 Gepard self-propelled air defense systems with spare parts
- 30 MRAP armored vehicles with mine protection
- 1 PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzer
- 12 armored vehicles with kinetic defense systems
- 7 Caracal airborne jeeps
- IRIS-T SLM and SLS air defense missile systems
- 2 Patriot launchers
- 2 TRML-4D radars
- Ammunition for Leopard 1 and Leopard 2 tanks
- 30 Vector drones, 24 RQ-35 Heidrun drones, 14 Hornet XR drones
- 5 AMPS helicopter self-defense systems
- 45 diving scooters
- 12 Zetros trucks and 8 fuel tankers
- 120 GMW grenade launchers
- 200 MG4 machine guns
- 420 MK 556 rifles
- 80 HLR 338 sniper rifles
- 100 CR 308 rifles
- 52,000 155 mm shells
- AIM-9L/I-1 Sidewinder missiles
- 65,000 rounds of ammunition for Gepard systems
The package also includes generators, tents, turnstiles, small arms ammunition, 120 mm mortar shells, mines, and demining equipment.
- On December 2, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz made an unannounced visit to Ukraine and unveiled a new €650 million aid package for Kyiv, set to arrive this month.
