234 clashes occur at front on Dec. 22: Ukrainian forces target Russian ammo depot

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this as of 8:00 a.m on December 23.

According to the updated information, yesterday Russian forces launched a missile attack on the Ukrainian positions and populated areas, as well as 15 air strikes, dropping 29 guided bombs. In addition, the Russian army carried out more than 4,200 attacks, 151 of them from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 2,053 kamikaze drones.

Over the past day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces targeted two Russian manpower concentrations, an electronic warfare station, an ammunition depot, and a UAV depot. In addition, four other important military targets were hit.

Frontline update

In the Kharkiv sector, Russian troops stormed the Ukrainian positions seven times near Hoptivka, Hlyboke, Vysoka Yaruha, Buhrivatka, and Starytsia.

In the Kupyansk sector, seven Russian attacks were registered over the last day. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled Russian assaults near Kucherivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Bohuslavka, Zahryzove, and Nova Krystynivka.

In the Lyman sector, the Russian army attacked 36 times and tried to break into Ukrainian defense near the settlements of Zelenyi Hai, Novoserhiivka, Novoiehorivka, Hrekivka, Makiivka, Nadiia, Ivanivka, Terny, Toretsk, Hryhorivka, and in the direction of Druzheliubivka and Dibrova.

In the Siversk sector, 12 firefights took place. Russia used armored vehicles, buggies, and motorcycles to conduct assault operations in the direction of Verkhnokamianske.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the invading Russian forces attacked 7 times near Vasiukivka, Chasiv Yar, and Stupochky.

In the Toretsk sector, Russian forces carried out 7 attacks near Toretsk and Druzhba.

In the Pokrovsk sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces stopped 37 assault and offensive actions of the Russian army near the settlements of Lysivka, Sukha Balka, Promin, Zelene, Ukrainka, Dachenske, Shevchenko, Novoukrainka, Pokrovsk, Novovasylivka, Novoielyzavetivka and Novoolenivka.

Russian troops used armored vehicles to try to break through the defense near Zelene, Dachenske, Shevchenko, Novoielyzavetivka, and Novoolenivka. According to Ukraine's General Staff, they were unsuccessful and continue to amass forces.

Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 30 attacks in the Kurakhove sector. In Kurakhove itself, fighting continues in the urban area.

In the Vremivka sector, the Russian army launched 44 attacks on Ukrainian military positions. In the course of repelling the attacks, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed a Russian tank and 2 armored personnel carriers. They also damaged 3 more tanks and 1 armored personnel carrier.

In the Orikhiv sector, Russian troops attacked once, near Novoandriivka.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russian forces tried four times to force Ukrainian units out of their positions. They were repulsed and suffered losses.

On the border with Belarus, no signs of enemy offensive groups were detected.

Ukrainian forces repel 27 Russian attacks in the Kursk region

The operation in the Kursk region continues. Over the past day, Ukrainian defenders repelled 27 Russian attacks in the area. Russia launched 440 attacks.

Ukrainian soldiers are inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment on the invading Russian forces, as well as actively undermining their offensive potential in the rear.

• Over the past day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated 1,990 Russian servicemen at the frontline. Ukrainian troops also destroyed 6 tanks, 15 armored combat vehicles, 29 artillery systems, 55 operational and tactical UAVs, a cruise missile, 67 vehicles, and two units of special equipment.
