Ukrainian forces prevent Russian advance across Dnipro in Kherson region
Spokesman for the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, Serhiy Bratchuk, commented on the attempt by Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups to establish a foothold on the right bank of the Dnipro in Kherson
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"Russian forces did attempt to use sabotage and reconnaissance groups near the Antonivskyi Bridge. The Russians reached the water, but our forces destroyed their groups. Some assault teams didn’t even manage to get into the boats because they were eliminated. The Russian army continues to shell the regional center and is trying to reach the island area along the Dnipro. However, there is currently no talk of crossing the Dnipro by Russians, as the Ukrainian command is well aware of their plans and resources. Our proactive actions are bringing success, including destroying Russian fire points on the left bank," Bratchuk reported.
The spokesperson for the Ukrainian Volunteer Army noted that last week, a powerful artillery strike hit Kherson.
"For 40 minutes, Russians fired over 1,000 shells, using field artillery and multiple rocket launchers. This caused significant resonance in the information space, as discussions began about the possibility of Russian forces crossing the Dnipro and moving to the right bank," he added.
