Energy disruptions in Moldova due to Russia's August 26 attack on Ukraine

Moldova reported energy disruptions on August 26 following Russian strikes on Ukraine

According to NewsMaker, power outages were observed within the Ukraine-Moldova energy block. However, Moldova's state enterprise, Moldelectrica, assured that the situation remains under control.

"Moldelectrica reports disruptions in the energy system of the Ukraine-Moldova common block due to attacks on critical Ukrainian infrastructure. The situation is under control. We have sufficient local generation to manage minor disruptions," stated the company.

On the evening of August 25, the Russian military launched drone attacks over Ukraine. By the morning of August 26, 11 Russian Tu-95MS and Tu-22M3 aircraft were observed in action. The attacks resulted in casualties, injuries, and destruction in several regions.
