She spoke about this in an interview with Suspilne.
Markarova stated that the Ukrainian Embassy “always prepares both meetings and calls.”
“It takes some time. Ukraine has far more contacts (within the new U.S. president’s team – ed.) than other countries,” she emphasized.
She also highlighted that the embassy has strong connections with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Volz, noting that they had been working with them even before Trump’s election.
- On January 31, US President Donald Trump said that his administration had held “very serious” discussions with Russia: he hopes to do something “significant” with Kremlin leader Putin to end the war.
- President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that excluding Ukraine from discussions between the United States and Russia regarding the war would be extremely dangerous.
