Ukrainian forces repel 35 Russian attacks near Pokrovsk, 12 in Kursk region on Feb. 4

The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ General Staff reported the information as of 8:00 a.m. on February 5.

Yesterday, Russia launched two missile strikes and 76 air strikes against Ukrainian positions and localities, including two missiles and 124 guided bombs. In addition, it carried out more than 5,300 attacks, 81 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 2,711 'kamikaze' drones to attack.

13 settlements were hit by Russian air strikes.

Over the past day, missile troops and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit six areas Russian troops concentrated on personnel, weapons, military equipment, two artillery systems and one electronic warfare station.

Frontline update

In the Kharkiv direction, the Russian troops stormed the Ukrainian positions once near Vovchansk.

In the Kupyansk direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled the Russian assault near Zahryzove, Petropavlivka, Lozova and in the direction of Novoosynove, where seven Russian attacks took place over the last day.

In the Lyman direction, the Russian troops attacked twice yesterday. They tried to break into the Ukrainian defense near Yampolivka and Dibrova.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the invading forces attacked six times in the areas of Stupochky, Predtechyne and Chasiv Yar.

In the Toretsk direction, the Russian forces attacked ten times in the areas of Toretsk and Shcherbynivka. 

In the Pokrovsk direction, the Ukrainian defenders stopped 35 aggressor's offensives in the areas of Kalynove, Myroliubivka, Promin, Kotlyne, Udachne, Uspenivka, Andriivka and Dachne.

In the Novopavlivka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces rebuffed two Russian attacks. The occupants tried to advance near Rozlyv and Zelenivka.

In the Huliaipole direction, three Russian attacks were fought off by Ukrainian troops near Novosilka.

In the Orikhiv direction, the Russian invaders attacked the Ukrainian positions twice and tried to advance towards Novodanylivka and Mala Tokmachka. 

In the Siversk and Prydniprovskyi directions, the Russian troops did not conduct any active operations.  

In the Kursk direction, 12 combat engagements took place yesterday, the Russians carried out 46 air strikes, dropping 67 guided bombs, and fired 378 artillery shells, including five from multiple launch rocket systems.

On the border with Belarus, no signs of Russian assault group formation were detected.

  • Invading Russian army lost 1,140 servicemen in a day of war in Ukraine. The Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed a number of Russian equipment, including 9 tanks.
