Over 45,000 Ukrainian soldiers killed in war with Russia — Zelenskyy
As of February 4, 2025, over 45,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed in the war against the invading Russian forces
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared the information in an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, according to Suspilne.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine's losses amount to 45,100 killed, with around 390,000 soldiers wounded.
"I will be precise here: the number of wounded is higher than the number of killed because there are people who have been injured. There are also those who were wounded, returned to the battlefield, and were wounded again. That’s why the number of wounded stands at 390,000," the statement says.
The Ukrainian president reported 350,000 eliminated Russian servicemen, with another 50,000 to 70,000 Russians considered missing.
"They have around 600,000–700,000 wounded. The ratio is roughly one to two because their field medicine is weaker than ours. They don’t evacuate the wounded - if someone is injured on the battlefield, they remain there. So these estimates are fairly accurate and correspond closely to reality," Zelenskyy stated.
- In the interview, Volodymyr Zelenskyy also said he is ready to sit down for talks with Vladimir Putin.
