Russia launches massive missile, drone attack on Ukraine, U.S. intelligence had warned
Explosions were heard across regions in Ukraine as Russia launched a massive missile and drone attack on August 26
On the evening of August 25, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia had launched attack UAVs into Ukraine. By 11:54 p.m., the Air Force declared the immediate threat had ended.
However, on the morning of August 26, Russia launched a new wave of Shahed-type attack drones. Additionally, 11 Tu-95MS aircraft were deployed to launch missiles at Ukraine.
As of 10:16 a.m., an air raid alert has been issued across Ukraine. Explosions have been reported in Kyiv, Poltava, Kharkiv, Odesa, Khmelnytskyi, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Volyn, Vinnytsia, Ternopil, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv and Rivne regions.
Later, emergency power outages were introduced in Ukraine due to massive Russian shelling.
At 10:34 a.m., Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reported that 15 regions were hit by a massive Russian attack today. The Russian army employed various weapons, including UAVs, cruise and Kinzhal missiles. There are wounded and dead.
According to Shmyhal, Russia has once again targeted energy infrastructure, causing damage in several regions.
