Ukrainian troops release GoPro footage of repelling Russian assault, eliminating two squads
Ukrainian forces successfully repelled a Russian assault, neutralizing two squads, as detailed by platoon commander Zhnetz
Ukrainian forces successfully repelled a Russian assault, eliminating two of their squads, as captured in GoPro footage.
The commander, known as Zhnetz, shared his experience of the intense battle: "At one point, it felt like something straight out of a zombie movie – machine guns firing relentlessly, and the enemy advancing in a steady, unyielding wave. In just one day, their casualties were overwhelming."
Zhnetz, who started the war as a paramedic with the Hospitallers medical unit, later joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces, rising to the rank of platoon commander in the 66th Mechanized Brigade, named after Prince M. Khorobryi.
"The enemy bombarded us with artillery, mortars, drones, and even airstrikes. At our secondary position, they tried to move through a narrow forest path, unwilling to cross the open field. We countered with focused machine gun fire, gradually pushing them back," Zhnetz recalled.
- In the first month of 2025, Ukrainian defenders took out over 15,000 Russian invading troops in one of the hottest front-line sectors – Pokrovsk.
