This was reported by Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi.
He noted that a defensive operation is currently underway, focused primarily on eliminating Russian forces and reserves.
According to Syrskyi, Ukrainian defenders are consistently inflicting losses on the Russian army, with the Pokrovsk sector remaining one of the toughest.
"In just January alone, our soldiers neutralized over 15,000 invaders here (in the Pokrovsk sector – ed.), about 7,000 of whom are irretrievable losses," Syrskyi stated.
- In the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated another 1,320 Russian soldiers along the front. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the occupying Russian army has already lost over 840,000 troops.
