Ukrainian forces target oil refinery in Russia's Krasnodar region, fire breaks out

On the night of February 5, Ukrainian drones attacked an oil refinery in the Krasnodar region of Russia, as well as a Russian Buk missile system in the Zaporizhzhia region

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff confirms the strike on targets in Russian territory.

"Units of the Security Service of Ukraine, in cooperation with the Armed Forces and other components of the Defense Forces, struck the Albashnafta facility in the Krasnodar region of Russia on the night of February 5," they stated.

According to the military, this oil refining and petroleum products manufacturing plant is positioned as a "mini-oil refinery" and is involved in supplying gasoline and diesel to the Russian occupation army.

A fire broke out at the facility. The results of the strike are being clarified.

In addition, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' unmanned systems conducted combat operations against a Russian Buk missile defense system located on the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region. A successful hit and damage to the target were recorded.

According to the head of the Krasnodar region, Veniamin Kondratyev, reported the information.

According to him, in the village of Novominskaya in the Kanyvsky district, UAV debris fell onto a tank with small remnants of petroleum products.

"A fire broke out, and it was assigned a second-level difficulty. Emergency services are working at the scene. Fifty-five people and 19 units of equipment are involved in firefighting. The head of the Kanyvsky district is monitoring the situation," Kondratyev reported, adding that the fire has been localized and, preliminarily, there are no casualties.

Local sources report that the fire occurred at the Albashnafta oil depot.

  • On the night of January 31, units of Ukraine's UAV Forces and the Main Intelligence Directorate, in coordination with other branches of the Defense Forces, struck Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka LLC in Russia's Volgograd region.
