Ukraine's General Staff reported the information.

The General Staff noted that this oil refinery is among the top ten largest refineries in Russia by design capacity and is involved in supporting the Russian army.

"Flashes and explosions have been recorded in the area of this important plant for Russian occupiers. The results of the fire damage are being clarified. Combat operations against strategic infrastructure, which directly impacts the capabilities of the Russian armed forces to continue combat operations against Ukraine, will continue," the General Staff stated.

Earlier, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalenko, confirmed the strike on the Volgograd oil refinery, one of the largest in Russia.

According to Kovalenko, the refinery's designed processing capacity is about 14 million tons of oil per year, making it the sixth-largest in Russia. The plant produces gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, and aviation fuel.

A fire broke out at the refinery in the Volgograd region after drone debris fell, Governor Andrey Bocharov stated earlier.

One injured refinery worker has been hospitalized, he added.

Rostov region

The governor of the Rostov region, Yuriy Slyusar, stated that power lines were severed after drone debris fell on a power transmission tower.

"Last night, air defense forces in the Rostov region repelled a massive enemy air attack. A total of 25 drones were destroyed in Rostov, Taganrog, Shakhty, Novoshakhtinsk, Azov, Chortkovo, Oktyabrskoye rural settlement, Tarasovskoye, Krasnosulinsky, Millerovo, and Zernograd districts. According to emergency services, there are no casualties. In the Krasnosulinsky district near the village of Grachev, drone debris falling on a power transmission tower caused a break in power lines. Emergency crews have been dispatched to the scene. Information on other damages in cities and districts is being clarified," Slyusar wrote.

Vladimir region

A drone crashed in the Sudogodsky district of the Vladimir region, with no casualties reported. This was announced by the region's governor, Avdeyev, as reported by TASS.

  • Russia has suspended oil transit through the Ust-Luga port on the Baltic Sea due to a drone attack on a pumping station.
