UK Foreign Secretary Lammy visits Kyiv, announces $68M aid package for Ukraine
On Wednesday, February 5, UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy arrived in Kyiv for a visit. The United Kingdom is preparing over $68 million in aid for Ukraine
Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, shared the information.
He stated that they would discuss further cooperation and joint projects to strengthen Ukraine’s security with the British minister.
"I am grateful that the United Kingdom always stands with Ukraine in these difficult times," Zaluzhnyi added.
UK aid for Ukraine
The website of the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office states that David Lammy will announce a new aid package for Ukraine totaling £55 million (approximately $68.7 million).
This includes about $21.2 million for innovative energy projects to support the restoration and sustainable development of Ukraine’s energy system. Around $12.4 million will go toward supporting Ukraine’s private sector and strengthening small and medium-sized businesses.
Additionally, approximately $31.2 million will be allocated to help Ukraine strengthen more inclusive, efficient, and effective social systems and services, while about $3.7 million will support the delivery of Ukrainian grain and other food products to Syria.
