Vitalii Sarantsev, a spokesman for the Kharkiv operational and tactical troop grouping, shared this information during a telethon.
According to him, Russian forces are relying on drones for logistics in the besieged area near Vovchansk, particularly at the aggregate plant.
"A Russian unit has been trapped there for months," Sarantsev said.
"Initially, there were around 40 soldiers. They've suffered losses — some are dead, others are wounded. Some of the injured can still fight, while others are immobile. A number of them remain there, but I can't disclose the exact count for specific reasons," Sarantsev added.
- Over the past day, the Russian army lost 1,190 servicemen and dozens of pieces of military equipment in the war in Ukraine.
