He shared this message on Telegram on August 25.
According to the president, during the two and a half years of full-scale war, Russia has fired roughly 10,000 missiles of various types and over 33,000 anti-aircraft missiles at Ukraine.
"Strikes on our cities can be stopped by targeting the carriers of these weapons — Russian planes at military airfields," Zelenskyy emphasized.
He also noted that on August 24, the first successful combat use of a new weapon occurred: the Ukrainian long-range missile-drone Palianytsia, developed to neutralize Russia's offensive capabilities.
"There will be more missile-drones, just like our long-range strike drones, whose effectiveness we witness almost daily," the president declared.
- On Sunday, August 24, 2024, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the debut of new Ukrainian weapons at the Independence Day celebrations. Ukraine successfully hit Russia for the first time with its new missile-drone Palianytsia.
