He made the announcement on Facebook.
The defense minister emphasized that today's massive Russian attack proves that Ukraine needs permission to launch long-range strikes on military targets in Russia.
“Civilians were injured, homes were destroyed, critical infrastructure was damaged. This proves once again that in order to win, we need long-range capabilities and the lifting of restrictions on strikes on enemy military targets,” Umerov wrote.
He also added that “Ukraine is preparing its responses. Weapons of our own production”.
- Explosions were heard across regions in Ukraine as Russia launched a massive missile and drone attack on August 26.
- President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that on August 26, Russian troops fired over 100 missiles of various types and about a hundred Shaheds at the territory of Ukraine. He called on partners to lift restrictions on the Ukrainian Armed Forces to launch long-range missiles.
