"Putin is a sick creature": Zelenskyy urges allies to lift long-range restrictions
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that on August 26, Russia launched over 100 missiles of various types and nearly 100 Shahed drones against Ukraine. He called on international partners to remove restrictions on long-range missile strikes for Ukraine's Armed Forces
He shared this message on Telegram.
"Putin remains true to his nature: he is a sick creature — this has been obvious to everyone for a long time. But it’s equally clear that he can only go as far as the world allows. Weakness and half-measures in response only fuel terror. Every leader, every partner knows what strong decisions are needed to stop this war and bring about a just end. There should be no range restrictions for Ukraine when the terrorists face no such limits. There should be no restrictions on the weapons for those defending life when Russia freely uses its own arsenal, Shaheds and North Korean ballistics. America, Britain, France, and other partners have the power to help us end this terror," Zelenskyy emphasized.
He noted that the cleanup from the massive Russian attack is ongoing across Ukrainian regions and assured that repair crews will work around the clock.
"This was one of the largest strikes, a combined one, with over 100 missiles of various types and nearly 100 Shahed drones. Like most previous Russian attacks, it was cowardly, targeting critical civilian infrastructure," he said.
- In the evening of August 25, the occupying Russian army launched attack UAVs on the territory of Ukraine. In the morning, 11 Russian Tu-95MS and Tu-22M3 aircraft were spotted. Explosions have already been heard in Kyiv, Kharkiv and Poltava regions.
