He made this statement during a telethon.
“In general, the situation along the border remains unchanged. Ukraine’s defense forces, including border guards, the Armed Forces, and the National Guard, have full control of the border line. No unusual activities have been observed directly along our state border,” Demchenko said.
He added that intelligence units are also monitoring the situation within Belarus to assess potential changes and ensure readiness in case of any actions originating from Belarus.
“However, I can confirm that we have not noticed any movement of equipment or personnel in the immediate vicinity of our border,” he concluded.
- On August 18, self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that Belarus was 'forced to move' almost a third of its army to the border with Ukraine. He claims that Kyiv has deployed over 120,000 Ukrainian troops there.
