The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine celebrated Independence Day by destroying a 5,000-ton ammunition warehouse in Russia's Voronezh region

“On August 24, 2024, the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine conducted a successful fire attack on an ammunition depot located near Ostrogozhsk, Voronezh region of Russia,” the statement said.
According to the special forces, the military facility belonged to the Zapad military grouping of the Russian Armed Forces. Artillery and tank shells, small arms ammunition, and surface-to-air missiles were stored on its territory.
Ukraine's military intelligence noted that more than five thousand tons of ammunition were destroyed in total.
“Detonation continues! The festive roar reaches to the heavens! We continue to fight! Happy Independence Day of Ukraine, citizens! Glory to Ukraine,” the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine greeted.
The Voronezh-based Telegram channel Zhest Voronezh showed footage of ammunition detonating in a warehouse in Ostrogozhsk.
The governor of the Voronezh region, Alexander Gusev, said that the detonation of the explosive objects occurred after the UAV attack.
“A fire started in the Ostrogozhsk district after several UAVs were destroyed, which caused an explosion. Two people were injured in the attack, one of them is in serious condition with shrapnel wounds,” he said.
