Igor Dashko heroically died on April 9 during the battles for Mariupol.
The unit, which included Lieutenant Colonel Igor Dashko, together with brothers from other defense forces of Ukraine, held back the superior invader forces in a certain sector of the defense of the hero city.
When the invader tried to break through the position, he covered the departure of his brethren to spare positions. The border guard was seriously wounded, and in order not to be taken prisoner himself and to prevent the invader from seizing the radio station, he made a difficult decision - to blow himself up with a grenade. The last words of the courageous border guard sounded on the radio: "Glory to Ukraine!"

He graduated from the local school No. 1 of Taras Shevchenko and devoted his whole life to the military service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
