"So there are no bombings near our border, as in Lviv": Hungarian Foreign Minister justifies decision not to supply weapons to Ukraine with arguments of Russian propaganda
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siyyarto voiced Russian propaganda on missile strikes on Lviv to justify his government's decision not to supply weapons to Ukraine
He said this during a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, according to Hungarian newspaper Hirado.
He said Hungary appreciated " efforts of mediators between parties to promote peace talks".
"Most important aspect for us here is security of Hungary, we will do everything possible to prevent Hungary from going into the war. Therefore, we still don’t supply weapons to Ukraine and don’t allow supply of weapons directly to Ukraine through Hungary," said Peter Siarto.
He believes that correctness of this government decision has been confirmed many times, especially recently, when "bombings destroyed arms supplies to Ukraine Lviv county.”
“We don’t want such things happen in Hungarian-populated areas near Hungarian-Ukrainian border, "he said.
"At the same time, of course, we stand for territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine and will continue largest humanitarian operation in Hungary history, as well as reception of refugees from Ukraine," he added.
It should be added that yesterday Russian propaganda explained strikes on Lviv by blocking NATO arms supplies to Ukraine. Moreover, there are reports that Russia is considering destroying these arms supplies at NATO countries.
