Russian-occupied Kherson region forces issuing passports: delivers water only to Russian passport holders
Yuriy Sobolevskyi, First Deputy Chairman of the Kherson Regional Council, says that the Russian occupation administration delivers water only to those who have a Russian passport
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"In the occupied area of the Kherson region, there are reports of intensified “filtration” measures by the occupiers. It has been noted that in certain communities, access to water is granted only to individuals who possess a Russian passport. This represents another line that the occupation administration has crossed. They are facing significant challenges with passportization and are resorting to various measures to compel people to obtain a passport, including limiting access to medical services and imposing restrictions on movement," said the first deputy head of the Kherson Regional Council.
Yuriy Sobolevskyi further explained that passing through the "filtration" checkpoints without a Russian passport has become nearly impossible. The atmosphere at these checkpoints is so intimidating that people are fearful of moving between different communities.
"Following the terrorist attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, the occupiers neglected to address the aftermath in all the affected settlements of the occupied Kherson region. Furthermore, aid is extended to individuals solely if they possess a Russian passport. During the relocation of people from flooded areas, the temporary resettlement sites were frequented by teams not primarily for humanitarian assistance, but for distributing passports. The level of cynicism is off the charts," Sobolevskyi summarized.
