Up to 30,000 rounds of ammunition may have been destroyed in Tver depot attack — military expert Zgurets
Serhiy Zgurets, military expert and CEO of the Defense Express media and consulting company, noted that a substantial amount of ammunition was stored in the warehouses of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Federation in the Tver region
He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.
“Indeed, this is good news. It is a continuation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' actions to destroy Russian stockpiles. A significant amount of Russian ammunition was stored at this facility. This is the town of Toropets, where the warehouses of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Federation are located. This is a fairly large facility. If you look at the satellite images, you can see at least 60-70 storage facilities in rows behind the fence and they were quite well maintained. That is, this is an important arsenal where, according to various estimates, up to 30,000 pieces ammunition of different types were stored,” Zgurets said.
According to the military expert, all the buildings have detonated, as FARMS satellite images show a significant number of flashes over the entire area of the arsenal. According to preliminary estimates, 122 mm Grad ammunition, a significant number of 82 mm mines and small arms were stored there.
“I hope that there were also stockpiles of missiles for anti-aircraft missile systems of various types. Experts draw such conclusions based on the appearance of the detonations, which sometimes resemble fireworks. This is a really powerful blow to Russian stockpiles. The distance from the territory of Ukraine is approximately 500-600 kilometers. The strikes were carried out using our drones. These are systematic measures aimed at limiting the enemy's capabilities,” emphasized Zgurets.
