War on Russian territory: NGU reserve major Hetman predicts further actions of Freedom of Russia Legion
Oleksiy Hetman, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, reserve major of the National Guard of Ukraine, believes that Russian volunteers will not march on Moscow, but will most likely return
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"Volunteers from Russia have a long way to go to Moscow, and I'm not sure they will do it. More precisely, I am sure that they will not do so. Because in order to move a long distance, they need certain rear areas. That is, they need rear areas that will provide them with fuel, food, and water. That's why they don't plan to advance very far, because the frontline units will have to go tens of kilometers, the rear will not pull up, the equipment is broken down, people are without fuel, and this is a target. I am sure that they will stay there somewhere, and most likely return," suggested Hetman.
According to a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, the raid by Russian volunteers has a political and emotional component rather than a military one.
"There is no special military component there. It's more of a political and emotional component, but it's very important in a hybrid war. Many people in Russia are already starting to think about it. Because Ukrainians have been demonized, it is impossible to do otherwise, that we have to fight them. But Russians are already fighting here, people just like them. And they say quite correct words, that they want to liberate centimeter by centimeter so that people can live in peace and not be afraid. And on the front line, conversations are also being started among Russian soldiers. They say, who are we fighting for, maybe let's fight for our volunteers. Probably, this was the goal of the legion, not to reach Moscow," said Hetman.
