Putin conveys his demands to the West through Erdogan
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin demands a major agreement from the West that would fix "new realities" in the world.
CNN reports.
Recep Tayyip Erdogan's spokesman, Ibrahim Kalin, made the corresponding statement after the Turkish president's conversation with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin on October 7.
"Putin wants to have a new big deal, a new deal with the West. This is partly about Ukraine, no doubt. But the biggest problem is really a new deal between Russia and the Western world" - Kalin said.
According to him, Moscow believes that the agreements concluded at the end of the Cold War under the leader of the USSR, Mikhail Gorbachev, and the President of the Russian Federation, Boris Yeltsin, no longer correspond to the interests of modern Russia.
"There is a new Russia, there is a new world, there is a new reality, and they want a new agreement. The entire world liberal order is facing a big test," Kalin said.
He also expressed his belief that, despite the statement of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi about the refusal of negotiations with the current President of the Russian Federation, the dialogue between Ukraine and Russia will resume.
"The question is when we'll get back to it and how much damage will be done by then" - Kalin emphasized.
