Putin chooses 222 judges for Ukrainian areas under Russian occupation
Vladimir Putin has selected 222 judges to work in parts of Ukraine that are currently controlled by Russia
This is reported by the Center of National Resistance, referring to a document called Decree No. 607 issued by the Russian President. The decree is about appointing judges to federal courts and representatives of the President in the commissions that evaluate judges in different regions of Russia.
These judges have been chosen for regions like Donetsk, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia, which are currently under Russian occupation.
Putin has given these ‘judges’ the role for a period of 6 years.
This move is aimed at helping the Russian authorities control the regions in Ukraine that they have occupied and potentially suppress the local people.
Additionally, Kristina Kozlova and Olga Chepil have been appointed to courts in Bakhchisarai and Simferopol, Crimea.
The Center emphasizes that everyone involved in repressions will face legal consequences.
