"Perversions leading to degradation": Putin's address on annexing Ukrainian territory includes anti LGBTQ+ hate speech
Russian leader Vladimir Putin explains the attack on Ukraine as fuelled by a desire to protect Russians from "outright Satanism."
This was stated by Vladimir Putin during an address on the annexation of the occupied Ukrainian territories in the Kremlin Palace.
The Russian President said that he has to protect the values and the country from the West.
"Now they have come to a radical denial of moral norms, religion, and family. Let's answer very simple questions. I now want to return to what I said, to address all citizens of the country. Not only to those colleagues who are in the hall. Do we want here, in Russia, in our country to have father number 1, and number 2 instead of mom and dad? Are we completely out of our minds?" - Putin said.
The President of Russia began to threaten Russians with "perversions" that allegedly threaten them from the West.
"Do we want in our schools, from the elementary grades, to impose on children perversions that lead to degradation and extinction? To teach them that there are other genders besides women and men, and to suggest that they undergo sex-change surgery?" - he emphasized.
Putin also said that this is "a challenge to everyone, an overthrow of faith and traditional values."
Speaking about the West, he added: "The suppression of freedom acquires the features of a religion, on the contrary, of outright Satanism," and began quoting the Bible.
