The Main Intelligence Directorate reports that as of December 2023, there are 443,000 Russian troops actively engaged in the war in Ukraine, with an additional 30,000 personnel consisting of Russian Guard servicemen

This was stated by the representative of the Intelligence Directorate, Andriy Cherniak, in a comment to Liga.
"According to him, the number of the Russian army in Ukraine is 443,000 soldiers today. There are also about 30,000 servicemen from the Russian Guard at the frontline and in the occupied territories," the statement reads.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian intelligence spokesman Andriy Yusov stated that the actual number exceeds 450,000.
- Earlier, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said that 617,000 militants were fighting against Ukraine.
