Ukraine’s Azov brigade captures 17 Russian troops in Toretsk sector
Azov replenished its exchange fund by capturing 17 Russians in the Toretsk sector. Some of them are involved in war crimes
This was reported by the Azov press service.
“While repelling enemy assaults and counterattacks near New York, fighters of the 12th Azov Special Forces Brigade, together with related units, captured almost twenty soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces,” the statement said.
The brigade noted that the captured soldiers came to Ukraine from different parts of the Russian Federation, and some of them are accomplices in war crimes.
“Their testimonies will be handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation,” Azov added.
They emphasized that the Russians will be used to return Ukrainian defenders from captivity.
“The brigade's fighters guarantee the safety of life to all Russians who have decided to lay down their arms and surrender,” the press service summarized.
- On October 1, the media spread information about the alleged execution of 16 Ukrainian prisoners of war by the Russian troops. The video shows Ukrainian servicemen under the control of Russian troops coming out of a forest belt. When the prisoners of war lined up in a row, the Russian forces deliberately opened fire on them. Later, the Office of the Prosecutor General opened criminal proceedings over the incident.
