Medvedchuk asked Putin and Zelensky to exchange him for residents and defenders of Mariupol
Victor Medvedchuk, the godfather of Russian President Vladimir Putin detained by Ukrainian law enforcement officers, asked to exchange him for Ukrainian residents and defenders of Mariupol
Medvedchuk said this in a statement issued by the Security Service of Ukraine.
"I, Viktor Volodymyrovych Medvedchuk, want to ask Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to exchange me on the Ukrainian side for the defenders of Mariupol and the residents who are there today and do not have the opportunity to leave safely through the humanitarian corridor," Medvedchuk said.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky offered Russia to exchange Medvedchuk for captured Ukrainians.
