"The democratic world must also react to what the invaders are doing in the south of our country, in Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions. They build dungeons there, kidnap representatives of local authorities and everyone who is considered visible to local communities. They blackmail teachers, steal money used to pay pensions, block and steal humanitarian aid, and drive people to starvation", the president said.

Zelensky added that the Russians were trying to introduce the ruble in the temporarily occupied territories.

The invaders are also trying to tear apart the Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions, following the example of the so-called "DPR" and "LPR". "The attempt of the ruble occupation in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions must be fully covered by the sanctions of the Russian banking and financial system.
