Commander of  large landing ship "Caesar Kunikov" of the 197th brigade of landing ships of  Black Sea Fleet of Russia was buried today, April 18, in Sevastopol

This was reported by a number of Russian propaganda media, as well as so-called governor of occupied Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhayev.

 

According to media reports, Oleksandr Chyrva "died from wounds received in battle in Ukraine, and" his courage, professionalism and experience saved  lives of crew members. " However, they don’t specify under what circumstances Cherva was liquidated.

 

Alexander Chirva was born in Sevastopol. He was commander of large landing ship "Caesar Kunikov" of the 197th brigade of landing ships of  Black Sea Fleet of Russia, Captain 3rd Rank. In 2015 and 2016 he took part in a war in Syria.

 

"Caesar Kunikov" - Russian landing ship project 775. Based in Sevastopol. Ship participated in  KFOR operation in Kosovo (1999), Russian-Georgian war (2008), provided support to  Syrian army (Operation Syrian Express, 2015).

When a large landing ship of project 1171 "Saratov" was destroyed on March 24, 2022 in port of Berdyansk (occupied by the Russian military), two other large Russian landing ships of project 775 - "Caesar Kunikov" and "Novocherkassk" - were damaged.
